LANDIKOTAL: After various rounds of talks between Afghan and Pakistani border authorities, Torkham border-crossing was reopened for stranded passengers on both sides of the border while a large number of loaded trucks were still not allowed to cross the border, sources said on Friday. As per the sources a large number of passengers had moved to Torkham border from the various cities of Pakistan and Afghanistan. A weeklong closure of the border increased the problems of the stranded passengers. Long queues of load and empty trucks were also seen on both sides of the border were waiting for clearance and crossing the border so far. An official on the condition of anonymity told this scribe that pressure of passengers and loaded trucks had gradually increased in the past one week. He said they only agreed to reopen border crossing for padestrians. He said they were worried to accomodate the transit and export vehicles entered Torkham. He said they were waiting from high ups to formally notify them for the reopening of border for all kinds of movements. Our Correspondent
