Muhammad Faiq Shah, founder and chairman of the Amun Taraqqi Party said a fair and transparent election was the only solution to all crises.
Faiq emphasised the pivotal role of free, fair and credible election in addressing the myriad challenges facing Pakistan, saying that elections devoid of transparency hold no value.
Addressing a public gathering/corner meeting during the ongoing mass contact campaign in district Karak, KP and parts of Punjab here on Tuesday, the ATP chief emphasised the critical importance of a free and fair electoral process for addressing pressing issues such as the struggling economy and the surge in terrorism.
On the occasion, a group of political workers along with their families joined the ATP and vowed to become an active part of a movement launched by the party for public authority, justice and power.
He urged the government, election commission and chief justice to ensure transparency and fairness in the election, stressing that a clean and transparent election is crucial for the wellbeing of the people.
The ATP chairman argued that “unfair elections” would not effectively address the existing problems facing the country.
He also called for equal opportunities and a level playing field for all political parties in elections.
Shah asked people not to come into deceiving tactics and fake promises of the political monopolies and opportunists and reject them with power of their vote as these people not only deviated from their manifesto but also left no stone unturned to elevate public miseries.
He asked youth and people to come forward and become part of the movement for public authority and justice.
He, furthermore, called to look upon new parties and manifestos instead of becoming grasping of those people who remained in power for several decades but they have only worked for shielding their personal interests and gaining power and left people in lurch and elevate public owes.
The ATP chairman said the true essence of democracy has vanished due to fostering politics of vendetta, personal gains, and lust for power.
He expressed concerns that “pre-decided outcomes” could undermine the democratic essence of the electoral process.
