Tribesmen in Landi Kotal disapprove price hiking

Number of protesters from different walks of life gathered at Bacha Khan Square, Landi Kotal Bazaar against the rocket price of petroleum commodities and essential commodities here on Saturday.
Prior to it, on the call of Anjuman-e-Tajeran,Landi Kotal Bazaar, a shutter down strike was observed against the present inflation in the country.
The rally was organized under the banner of Jamaat-e-Islami(JI), Khyber chapter that was attended by a large number of local traders, political workers and laymen.
The protestors carried banners inscribed with writings against price hike and chanted against the government.
Addressing on the occasion President of Khyber Sysasi Ittehad(Political Alliance, Khyber)Murad Hussain,JI Ameer Landi Kotal,Muqthader Shah Afridi,Zernoor Afridi,local leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf,Abdurraziq,head of Anjuman-e-Tajeran,Jafer Shinwari and others said that poor policies of the interim government compelled common man on starvation and they had no other option but to resort to the street protest.
On one hand a common man could not purchase sugar, flour, ghee, oil, vegetables, meat and chicken due to high prices. On the other hand, the high price of petroleum brought public transport to halt as cost was more than income.
Because of the unprecedented price rise, it was impossible for a middle class citizen to feed his family with respect, they said, adding while rulers had turned blind towards miseries of the citizens.
They demanded the government to control inflation and provide relief to the people.
The protestors marched from Bacha Khan Chawk to in front of the Landi Kotal press where they dispersed after chanting against the government.
