The tribesmen suspended Pak-Afghan highway in Landi Kotal and Jamrud separately for all kinds of traffic against arrest of tribal and political figure here on Sunday.
It is to be stated here that last night local police apprehended Mufti Ijaz Shinwari, a tribal elder and head of Jamiat Ullema-e- Islam,Fazal Rehman(JUI-F) group under 3 mpo at Bagyari checkpoint.
Large number of protestors appeared at the Landi Kotal-Torkham bypass road and blocked it by putting stones and initiated sit-in on the highway.
They were on the view that their leader Mufti Ijaz Shinwari is innocent but the administration without any charge detained him and further lodged First Information Report (FIR) against other elders that is injustice.
Raising voice for there a right is not a sin and they will unite against any project to be set up in Torkham to hurt their interest, they remarked.
Similarly, a protest rally was also held at Bab-e Khyber, Jamrud that was attended by scores of JUI-F workers beside people from different walk of life.
They flayed the administration for allegedly unfair act of detention of Mufti Ijaz Shinwari and threatened that until releases of their leader, they will continue their agitation.
