UET organises seminar on self-accountability

University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar organized a seminar on self-accountability as part of its ongoing anti-corruption awareness campaign. Musaddiq Abbasi, Advisor to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Anti-Corruption was the chief guest. Vice-Chancellor UET Peshawar, faculty members, and students also attended.
In his address, Musaddiq Abbasi underscored the pivotal role of the rule of law and justice in fostering prosperous societies. “Nations with robust accountability mechanisms and equitable systems witness lower corruption and greater prosperity,” he stated.
He highlighted the need for systemic reforms, and emphasized on eradicating corruption opportunities within institutions, particularly targeting elite-driven corruption that diverts national wealth abroad. Mr. Abbasi urged students to embrace self-accountability as a tool for societal transformation.
“Change begins with the individual. By reforming ourselves, we can reform the world,” he remarked.
He encouraged youth to cultivate a habit of reading, particularly studying the Quran, the life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), and the works of Allama Iqbal to build moral character. “Speak truth, reject falsehood, and let these teachings guide your practical lives,” he added.
The Vice-Chancellor of UET Peshawar welcomed Mr. Abbasi and thanked him for his insightful lecture on self-accountability and ethical governance. A commemorative shield was presented to the advisor.
