In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the use of brute force by occupying Indian forces against the freedom loving people of Kashmir to suppress their legitimate demand for right to self determination as guaranteed by the United Nations Security Council resolutions continues with full force. The brazen denial of a political space, disallowing freedom of expression and strangulation of civil liberty has disproved the Indian rhetoric of so-called normalcy in the besieged and illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The prevailing volatile situation is a clear message to the Indian fascist regime that the brave people of Kashmir have never accepted the forcible military occupation of their motherland by India and they will fight it tooth and nail until the last Indian military man leaves the soil of Kashmir.
The Indian troops are committing the worst kind of brutalities in the territory. The Indian forces are arresting innocent Kashmiris during the cordon and search operations (CASOs). Thousands of Kashmiri youth have been arrested since August 5, 2019 when Modi-led fascist Indian government repealed Kashmir’s special status and imposed military siege in the territory. The forces’ personnel have been conducting door-to-door searches in Srinagar, Sopore, Kuogam, Shopian and Pulwama for the last several days.
Thousands of Kashmiris, including Hurriyat leaders and activists, are languishing in jails of India and the territory where they are being deprived of basic amenities. The world community and international rights organizations should to take notice of Indian state terrorism in IIOJK and play role in resolving the lingering Kashmir according to the aspirations of the Kashmiri people so that permanent peace could be established in the region.
The plight of illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists, the prisoners of conscience, who have been deprived of their fundamental rights as prisoners of conscience is also a matter of grave concerns for international conscience. The fascist Indian jail authorities meet out inhuman behaviour to the Hurriyat leaders and activists in the hell-like jails of India and within the occupied territory has no comparison in the human history.
The Hurriyat leadership, incarcerated on flimsy and fabricated charges are humiliated and disrespected in jails and are treated as worst criminals. Dozens of aged leaders and activists have been suffering from multiple ailments but they are not provided necessary medical treatment, suitable diet and hygienic lodgings within the jails.
The United Nations Council for Human Rights, Amnesty International, Asia Watch and International Committee of the Red Cross should impress upon India to allow them to take on spot account of the pathetic conditions of illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists. The United Nations should take serious action against Indian brutalities inflicted on the innocent freedom-loving prisoners lodged in Indian jails and help resolve the Kashmir dispute so that durable peace could be established in the region.
Kashmiri nation pays salute to the martyrs of Kashmir who have sacrificed their precious lives for the sacred cause of freedom from Indian subjugation pledged to carry on the resistance movement to its logical conclusion despite Indian brutalities, widespread killings, arbitrary arrests and vandalising of their properties.
In this situation, the United Nations Secretary General to address the long-pending Kashmir dispute in the light of its agreed resolutions and take serious cognizance of the unabated civilian killings in Kashmir. An emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council on Kashmir should ask India to immediately stop genocide of the Kashmiri people and resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions.
