PESHAWAR: In a major blow for Awami National Party (ANP) in Peshawar, Malik Tariq Awan has announced his resignation from the party’s membership, claiming he did not meet party expectations in the recently held by-elections. Malik Tariq Awan who quit the ANP along with his family members said that ANP suffered great setbacks in the last so many elections. Mr Awan served the party in the capacity of vice president city council and city district Peshawar and was an active member of the provincial and central council working committee. I am no longer interested in parliamentary politics. I would be thankful to all members of ANP who always gave me respect in the party circle. My whole family members have also decided to resign from the core memberships of ANP. DLP Report
