US keen to support girls education in KP says US envoy

Donald Blome visits KP launches “Improving Girls Education” initiative

US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome on Saturday remarked that its government providing resources to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for quality education to girls of the remote areas of the province.
The ambassador shared these views during the launching “Improving Girls Education” an four million dollars initiative to provide access to quality education to girls.
Minister for education Shahram Khan Tarakai was also present on this occasion.
The Improving Girls Education Activity launched with support was inaugurated in Peshawar.
Under this four-year project managed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), steps will be taken to ensure better management and consistency in government schools for girls. .
Speaking on this occasion, American Ambassador Donald Bloom said that the American government supports Pakistan in all its efforts for the prosperous future of Pakistani citizens, especially girls, and through the recent activity started under this objective, the United States of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will continue to work on the development of the education sector so that the children of Pakistan, and especially girls, have access to facilities.
Provincial Minister Shahram Khan said that in the recent period, the support of the private sector is proving to be of key importance in the government’s efforts to deal with the difficulties of social development, a living proof of which is the health services in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
There is a government partnership with the private sector to deliver. He said that we are hopeful that through this activity initiated with the support of the US government, we will be able to make the school management more effective, which will help the school. The quality will also increase.
Ambassador Donald Blome also visited Eleanor Roosevelt Corner located at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, the largest women’s university in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
It should be noted that this one of the two American cultural centers established in the entire province provides opportunities for education and training to the youth.
America is proud to invest in activities focused on the protection and prosperity of women and girls across Pakistan, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
It should be remembered that since 2008, the American government has provided two billion dollars in development assistance to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for education, health, economic development, reforms in administrative affairs and support for human needs.
