Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan on Friday highlighted that those flying kites are primarily responsible for safety during the celebrations, adding that for Gen Z, experiencing this tradition for the first time should be a source of enjoyment for everyone, beyond politics.
During an exclusive interview with a private news channel, Malik Muhammad Ahmad said the vibrant Kite festival has once again brightened Lahore, bringing colour, joy and excitement to citizens of all ages especially children experiencing it for the first time.
Ahmad Khan emphasized that while the festival is a celebration of tradition and happiness, safety remains the top priority. He urged everyone participating in the festivities to follow all safety guidelines, highlighting that responsible behavior is key to ensuring that this grand event continues to be enjoyed by all.
He emphasized that the success of the festival largely depends on people’s behavior, as responsible participation ensures the tradition continues safely. Speaking about the revival of the festival, Malik described it as a brave decision by the government, noting that safety SOPs must be strictly followed.
He added that such measures are essential to preserve the festival’s legacy while allowing citizens to enjoy the celebrations without risk. The speaker also praised Chief Minister Punjab and the proactive citizens for supporting the revival of this grand festival, stating that the government prefers promoting entertainment and cultural traditions for the public’s enjoyment.
