ISLAMABAD : Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has said China has stood by Pakistan in every trying time and we will not change our relations with China under any pressure.

“Differences among China and US are alarming; If civil war erupts in Afghanistan then it will affect Pakistan more than any other country. It is history of Afghans that no one could subdue them . US went for military solution of Afghan issue which was its mistake.” PM said this while talking to the Chinese media on the occasion of centenary celebrations of Communist Party of China (CPC).

PM went on to say China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a project that gives us optimism and hope for future economic development

Imran Khan said Chinese President Xi Jinping is considered as the greatest statesmen of modern world. Pakistanis are greatly impressed by the Chinese President’s drive against corruption and his anti corruption campaign is effective and successful.

He reiterated Pakistan-China relations are deep and very close. Media and cultural ties are not as much close as the political relations are. Today’s meeting is aimed at promoting media connectivity.

Pulling out a largest number of people from poverty by China is a big achievement at present time, he underlined. China extricated 700 million people from poverty during a few years. China announced for end to poverty which is extraordinary success.

In our society it is very hard to change any system, he held. Communist party success is outcome of long planning. In electoral politics planning is carried out only for five years. We want cooperation from China in agriculture sector. Pakistan is agriculture country and we can benefit from the expertise of China.

PM pointed out Chinese president and prime minister started struggle from rural level and they have now reached this stage in the backdrop of their 30 years of struggle. US president has not to pass through such struggle. Chinese leadership fully understands the system. They know how the people below poverty line are leading the life.

He reiterated that our economic future is linked to CPEC. Our relations with China are gaining more strength.
Responding to a question, Imran Khan said China stands out the way they coped with Covid-19 pandemic. He said we are also thankful to China for donating vaccine which helped Pakistan better tackle with the pandemic.

There is difference between China stance and Western media view point on Xinjiang situation. We accept Chinese version. Several incidents of injustice occurred in the world including Kashmir but no one pays heed. Western media gives far less coverage to Kashmir issue.
.He observed it is hypocritical that there is no mention of worst human rights violations being carried out in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir in the western media. There are UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir dispute which accept the right of self-determination of Kashmiri people, he added. .

I will visit Gawadar next week to review CPEC project, he stated adding I will meet and talk to Chinese workers therein.
