LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has acquitted a lady and her paramour who were awarded death sentence in the murder case of husband. The court while giving benefit of doubt to both of the accused approved their pleas and ordered to release both of them by declaring trial court decision null and void. LHC bench comprising Justice Shehram Sarwar Chaudhry and Justice Sardar Akbar Dogar issued detailed judgment Thursday. According to decision the plaintiff had taken plea that Hina wife of Munir Ahmad had illicit relations with the accused Dilawar. Munir Ahmad used to forbid his wife from meeting Dilawar. According to prosecution Hina and Dilawar wen to a marriage ceremony from where Munir Ahmad did not return. His body was found during search efforts. Prosecution had claimed the accused persons along with two persons murdered Munir Ahmad husband of Hina. The court however maintained no witness was present on the occasion. Prosecution failed in proving its case. The court wrote in its decision as per principles of superior courts if doubt is found in any case then its benefit goes to the accused. Therefore, LHC while nullifying the decision of death sentence given by trial court in 2021 ordered to release the accused persons. It is pertinent to mention here that murder case of husband of Hina was registered in 2019 at Sargodha police station. Online
