Part of countrywide strike call of their party, a protest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) volunteers was held at Bacha Khan Chawk, Landi Kotal Bazaar on Sunday against rigging in general election 2024 and detention of the party leader Imran Khan.
Led by district leader of PTI Haji Zerbullah Shinwari scores of volunteers while carrying the PTI flags participated in the protest moot.
Speaking on the occasion Haji Zerbullah Shinwari and others said that it was a black day for the PTI when their mandate was stolen.
The whole nation was deprived of their legal right to choose their representatives that was injustice to them, he added.
He maintained that all efforts would be made to set free their leader, Imran Khan.
The protestors urged the government to resume the Torkham border and settle all issues through dialogue as local markets suffered a lot due to suspension of the crossing for the last three and half months.
On the other hand, the shopkeepers and local traders in Landi Kotal gave least importance to the shutter down strike call of PTI and trading centers were opened in routine.
The traders were of the view that they were striving hard to earn three meals for their family and they were uninterested in being part of what they said were useless political activities.
