ISLAMABAD
The World Bank has accorded approval of $700 million financing for Pakistan.
This approval has been given under Pakistan Public Resources for inclusive development program.
In this regard it has been said this project is meant for macro- economic stability and improvement in public services.
Overall financing upto 1.35 billion dollars will be provided under this program.
World Bank has said 600 million dollars have been approved for federation and 100 million dollars for Sindh. Provision of funds will be linked to achievement of reforms targets.
It has been said that increase in the resources is expected for health and education in Sindh.
Reforms will ensure transparency and boost public trust.
The world bank has said the project is focused on improvement in tax system and transparent financial discipline. This is target of improvement in service delivery by bringing improvement in digital data and fiscal system.
“The effort aims to mobilize finances efficiently and transparently to achieve concrete results for people. It will guarantee the supply of reliable funding for schools and clinics, just and progressive taxes, and better data to inform policies, without compromising priority public and climate investments,” World Bank’s country director in Pakistan, Bolormaa Amgaabazar said
According to world bank this program is in conformity with IMF Extended Fund Facility.
