World Tourism Day marked with international tourism investment conference

The 3rd Pakistan International Tourism Investment Conference 2025 was successfully held at the Best Western Premier Hotel in Islamabad to commemorate World Tourism Day, celebrated this year under the theme “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation.”
Organized by Brain Design in collaboration with the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) and Best Western Hotel, the event brought together key figures from the tourism and hospitality industries, including diplomats, policymakers, investors, and government representatives.
In his welcome address, Muhammad Rauf Raja, CEO of Brain Design, underscored the vital role of public-private partnerships in developing Pakistan’s tourism potential.
Chief Guest Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, National Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Tourism, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to making Pakistan a globally competitive, sustainable tourism destination.
PTDC Managing Director Aftab ur Rehman Rana delivered the keynote address, highlighting investment-friendly policies, infrastructure development, and community-based tourism as central to the government’s tourism strategy. Dr. Muhammad Ali Malik, Deputy Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, stressed the importance of youth engagement in eco-friendly tourism development.
A high-level panel discussion on “The Role of Technology in Environmental Sustainability” was moderated by Ms. Kiran Afzal, Senior Private Sector Specialist at the World Bank Group. The panel included senior representatives from the Frontier Works Organization (FWO), Board of Investment (BOI), Lakeshore Resorts, and NLC Aviation.
Adding a cultural dimension to the event, the Embassy of Indonesia presented a traditional musical dance performance, celebrating Pakistan’s international tourism and cultural ties.
The conference concluded with a shield distribution ceremony, cake cutting, and group photo, reaffirming a collective commitment to sustainable tourism growth in Pakistan.
