Mardan
A delegation from the Board of Directors (BoD) Water and Sanitation Services Company Kohat (WSSCK) visited the head office of WSSC Mardan (WSSCM) and its Integrated Resource Recovery Center (IRRC). The delegation led by Chairman and Acting CEO of WSSCK Saad Qureshi, member BoD Shakeel Afridi and Head of Administration Tahir Afif. .
The guests were warmly welcomed by the Chairman BoD WSSCM Engr. Adil Nawaz, board member Javed Hussain and CEO Shahid Khan. Manager Municipal Services Muhammad Ishaq briefed the delegates in detail about the project that converts waste into organic fertilizer.
While speaking to the delegates Chairman Engr. Adil Nawaz stated that beside the limited resources WSSCM is providing efficient and phenomenal sanitation services to the citizens of Mardan. Our mission is to make Mardan a model city in terms of cleanliness and safe drinking water.
He highlighted that the company has formulated a comprehensive strategy to make Mardan city clean.
The delegation was informed that through the support of German International Cooperation (Giz) WSSCM has installed SCADA system in six tube wells and fuel sensors in ten sanitation vehicles for the efficient use of energy. Chairman BoD WSSCK Saad Qureshi stated that it is our top priority to build better liaison with other companies to for better coordination and knowledge sharing. He lauded the performance of WSSCM and said that both the institutions will work closely for knowledge sharing.
He appealed the citizens of the entire province to reduce the use of plastic so that environmental pollution can be reduced. He stated that a joint meeting of all Board of Directors from across the province will be called soon to address the challenges and strengthen the sanitation companies.
