Today Islamabad Traffic police held a road safety, quiz competition 2018 at PNCA. This competition was participated by students hailing from various educational institutions. IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan and DIG Security, SSP Traffic and officials of Islamabad also participated.
Primary focus of this quiz competition was to test the knowledge of students regarding road safety rules and regulations.
IGP Islamabad during his address touched upon the importance of traffic and highlighted it as the face of every society.
The IGP called upon the students to follow traffic rules and not indulge in over speeding, one wheeling or rash driving.
He further reiterated importance of wearing of helmets and seat belts as well. IGP Islamabad was of the view that in case of fatal road accident, whole family is collapsed.
The IGP Islamabad in particular focused on drugs awareness and advice the students moralities should be the hall mark of their characters. Using drugs is not only a crime but also a social evil.
The IGP said an operation against the drug peddlers, suppliers and facilitators is being pursued with full throttle and that will meet its logical ends.
The IGP Islamabad also asked the students to follow “hash tag” for drug free Islamabad and lastly advised them to work hard with good intention which would make their life successful.
The DIG Security by taking advantage of this forum had read over an oath to the participating students. The primary purpose of the oath taking was to sensitize the students to keep them away from lethal drugs.
