Tariq Khan, the founder of Clean and Green Pakistan, while announcing the start of a twenty cleaning and unity march from Peshawar to Karachi in October, said that the youth should join the nationwide clean-up campaign to present a better image of Pakistan to the world.
He expressed these views while addressing a meet-the-press program at Mardan press club. Dr. Zahid Khan Yousafzai was also present at this occasion. Prominent social worker Tariq Khan said that it is his mission to keep Pakistan clean and to fulfill this mission he has left the luxurious life abroad.
He said that he started the campaign from 2014 and in the sit-in of a political party, he continued to carry the responsibility of picking up garbage on a daily basis. He argued that Health problems will be less if there is cleanliness. I don’t have any political goals but it makes my heart sad to see educated people throwing garbage and dirt. He said that there are 48 crore hands of 24 crore population.
He said that he is an Australian citizen. Some time ago he came to Pakistan with his two-year-old daughter.
He added that his daughter raised the question of why Pakistan is so dirty. On her daughter’s question, she established the Clean and Green Pakistan Organization.
He added that this organization is regularly registered, thousands of youths are part of this organization, so far this campaign has been carried out by selling their fathers’ property.
They argued that the country doesn’t need the forest department because the enemy of the trees is the forest department. If their ambitions work, they will eliminate this department. Tariq Khan said that we have to tell people that planting trees is a reward and charity.
If plants and trees are planted, the country will be green and the impact of climate change will be reduced. He said that all schools of thought, especially the youth, should be part of this campaign.
