Youth trained in leadership and civic engagement at Baragali camp

PESHAWAR: Directorate of Youth Affairs Khyber Pakhtunkhwa organised a three-day orientation program for student societies at the Baragali Summer Camp from June 27 to 29, 2025. The primary objective of this training activity was to foster personal growth,leadership skills, mutual cooperation, intellectual development, and a sense of responsible citizenship among youth, said a handout. Students from various universities participated enthusiastically in the camp. Renowned experts delivered special lectures on key topics including Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH), social and behavioral change, mental health, civic engagement and climate change. Prominent speakers included Dr. Nauman Mujahid, Director Youth Affairs Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; Dr. Ahmad Saeed Jan, a distinguished educationist; and Dr. Hayat Bangash, a renowned researcher. In their interactive sessions with the youth, the speakers emphasized the role of young people as agents of positive change in society. At the conclusion of the camp, certificates were distributed among the participants by Vice Chancellor of the University of Peshawar, Dr. Johar Ali, and Vice Chancellor of the University of Bannu, Dr. Muhammad Jahanzeb, who also appreciated the students’ active involvement. The team from student societies played a pivotal role in the successful organization of the event. The core objective of this activity was to prepare students not only for academic excellence but also to take on leadership roles in social domains, enabling them to become architects of a peaceful, informed, and progressive society in the future.
