PESHAWAR: Pakistan’s declining position on global transparency indices was a serious setback to the country’s social and economic progress, said Director National Accountability Bureau Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mian Muhammad Waqar. He stressed that corruption remains deeply rooted in society and continues to drain national resources, but emphasized that collective and individual behavioral change can put the nation back on the path of development. Addressing the concluding session of the Provincial Inter-University Poster and Painting Competition held at NAB KP as part of Anti-Corruption Week, he highlighted the pivotal role of youth in combating corruption. “Students are the most dynamic, energetic and influential segment of our society. Through conscious efforts, ethical conduct and responsible actions, the youth can help uproot the deep-rooted ills of corruption and lead the country towards integrity, unity and prosperity,” he said. University students from across the province participated enthusiastically in the competition. At the end of the ceremony, Director NAB KP Mian Muhammad Waqar and Director A&P Wing NAB KP Akhtar Ali distributed cash prizes and merit certificates among the winners. DLP Report
