2 mobile snatchers arrested, 7 mobiles recovered

Two suspected members of a dacoit gang were arrested in a police action in the limits of Gulbahar Police Station here on Friday.
The arrested persons were allegedly involved in snatching mobile phones from citizens at gunpoint and selling them by changing their International Mobile Equipment Identities (IMEIs), said a handout.
Police also claimed the accused were also involved in smuggling stolen mobiles phones to Afghanistan.
SHO Gulbahar Qazi Nisar said that after a complaint of mobile snatching, police initiated operations in the area and held the two suspects.
He said that the accused were identified as Sulman and Kamil resident of Peshawar.
During the preliminary investigation, the two suspects confessed to several incidents of robbery.
Police have recovered seven stolen mobile phones, weapons and a motorcycle from their possessions.
Cases have been registered against the arrested persons and more important revelations were expected during the investigation.
