Launching a crackdown on directives of federal authorities, teams of district government recovered more than 2000 sacks of sugar from various areas of the district.
According to Deputy Commissioner Office, officials of district administration raided various markets in Shewa Adda and recovered more than 2000 sacks of sugar from hoarders.
Three godowns were sealed and cases were registered against owners for hoarding and selling the commodity on inflated rates.
Deputy Commissioner Swabi, Gohar Ali has warned action against hoarders and said crackdown would continue to curb illegal practice and ensure provision of sugar to people.
