PESHAWAR: Police operations against street crimes in Peshawar have intensified, leading to the arrest of four more muggers in injured condition during shootouts. The ongoing crackdown targets criminals involved in snatching and street crimes across the city. According to police on Wednesday, over the past year, more than 260 criminals involved in snatching have been injured and 7 killed in police encounters. Under the supervision of SSP Operations Masood Ahmad, Paharipura Police apprehended two notorious snatchers identified as Usman alias “Pachase” of Dir Colony and Ayub Hussain, wanted in multiple cases of robbery, theft, drug trafficking, and attacks on police personnel. A total of 16 FIRs have been registered against them at various police stations including Rehman Baba, Agha Mir Jani Shah, Bhana Mari, Chamkani, Kotwali, Shah Qabool, Inqilab, and Paharipura. Weapons and a stolen motorcycle were recovered from the suspects. Separately, Daudzai Police also arrested two more suspects, Ashiq and Shoaib alias “Judge,” in injured condition after an exchange of fire. The suspects had opened fire at a police checkpoint. Police recovered Rs. 150,000 in cash, a motorcycle, and weapons from them. Two cases have been registered against the duo at Daudzai Police Station. Authorities affirm that operation against street crimes in Peshawar will continue with full force to ensure public safety. APP
