Chief Traffic Officer Abbas Majeed Khan Marwat has directed the traffic police to expand its operations against the encroachment mafia at all sections of the provincial capital.
He said that those who are creating hurdles in the smooth flow of the traffic should be dealt with iron hand, adding that no one would be allowed to cause traffic jam in Peshawar.
He expressed these views while chairing a review meeting regarding traffic system. Traffic officers including SP Headquarters Iftikhar Ali, SP Cantt Traffic Amanullah, SP City Traffic Abdul Salam Khalid, DSPs and traffic wardens attended the meeting.
Abbas Majeed Khan Marwat reviewed the operations carried out last week. During the meeting, he was briefed about the operations against encroachment mafia, use of tinted windows, overloading, new parking zones, helmets, seat belts, one wheeling, unregistered motorcycles and other campaigns.
On the occasion, Abbas Majeed Khan Marwat expressed satisfaction and said that City Traffic Police Peshawar should use all its capabilities to ensure uninterrupted travel facilities to the citizens and no negligence was tolerated in this regard.
He further said that traffic officers and wardens should continue their operations against encroachment mafia on a daily basis so that encroachments from across the city could be eradicated.
He directed the officers to expedite the campaigns launched by the City Traffic Police Peshawar and take stern legal action against the violators of traffic rules.
