UET to facilitate foreign students for Postgraduate Admission

The 37th meeting of Board of Advanced Studies and Research (BOASAR) was held here Thursday with the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Iftikhar Hussain in chair.
Prof. Dr. Rizwan Gul, Secretary BOASAR presented the agenda items. The meeting recommended to facilitate the foreign students by relaxing the UET postgraduate admission criteria who are inducted through HEC and Foreign Office. The members vowed to facilitate the foreign students’ especially Afghan students who show their interest in UET Peshawar’s postgraduate programs. However, international students who apply directly to UET Peshawar will have to pass IELTS/TOEFL as per the approved admission policy.
The meeting also approved the HEC policy to extend the maximum duration of one year (2 semesters) for the M.Sc, M.Phil, Ph.D students who were near completion in the Spring-2021 session but could not complete their studies in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic. The meeting also approved the minutes of 36th meeting of BOASAR held on August 12, 2020
The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of Prof. Dr. Rizwan M. Gul, Secretary BOASAR for holding the BOASAR meetings which shows the interest of academia in research and strengthening its postgraduate programs.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. M.A Irfan, Senior Dean, Prof. Dr. Amjad Ullah, Dean Faculty of Electrical and Computer, Prof. Dr. Siraj-ul-Islam, Dean, Faculty of Architecture, Allied Sciences and Humanities, Director Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Rawaid Khan, Prof. Dr. Misbah Ullah and Heads of departments.
