Govt urges to table Kalasha-Community marriage bill in KP Assembly

Special Assistance to Chief Minister for Religious Affairs Wazirzada while addressing a lobbying meeting on Kalasha marriage bill said that the provincial government was taking all possible steps to help the community and resolve their problems including enact proper legislation for thier rights protection.
Mr Wazirzada appreciated the efforts of Majlis-e-Adyan Alam for Kalasha Marriage Bill for the minorities of the Kalasha community, adding that this would be the first historical document for the community as they have nothing in writing.
Director General Local Government Muhammad Irshad Deputy Secretary Local Government, Sherzada Chief Qazi Kalasha community attended the meeting.
Abdul Ghafoor from Endowment Department, Chief Qazi from Chitral, with the management team of Pakistan Council of World Religions including Chairman Qari Rohullah Madani, Sadia Iram from Islamabad, Maqsood Ahmed Project Manager and Adiba Adeel Project Coordinator were among the participants of the meeting.
On this occasion, DG Local government asked the members of the community to hire a professional consultant for proper drafting of the bill to be presented in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.
The members of the community appreciated the provincial government representatives for their support and hoped that with the joint efforts of the KP government and the Pakistan Council of World Religion Faith Friends, the Kailasha Marriage Bill will soon be tabled in the Provincial Assembly for approval.
