Food packages among the residents of Loy-Shelman subdivision Landi Kotal were given away here at Ghakhi checkpoint last day.
The ration package consisted of flour, sugar, ghee, pulses etc. and was distributed among 400 poor and deserving tribesmen.
Commander Khyber Rifle Col Numanul Haq and officials of Tirah Rifle were present on the occasion.
The officials vowed that besides securing borders of the country, they would also contribute in public relief works
Dwellers of the area appreciated the noble act of the forces and urged the officials to serve the most neglected propel of the district.
Loy-Shelman is the remote and bordering area of Landi Kotal and a huge portion of the population serve their life below the poverty line.
