ISLAMABAD
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday announced the schedule of the ‘Jail Bharo’ movement due to begin on Wednesday.
According to the schedule, 200 party workers will surrender to police every day between February 22 and March 1, and six former PTI members of the MNAs as well as MPAs will accompany them to jail. And in case police refuse to arrest them, workers as well as ex-legislators will hold a sit-in at the spot designated for the purpose.
On the first day on February 22, PTI workers and leaders will surrender to police at The Mall, Lahore; on the second day on February 23 in Peshawar; on February 24 in Rawalpindi; on February 25 in Multan; on February 26 in Gujranwala; on February 27 in Sargodha; on February 28 in Sahiwal; while on March 1 in Faisalabad.
List of the PTI leaders and workers who will turn themselves into police on February 22 has been prepared. Former Punjab governor Umar Sarfaraz Cheema, along with ex-MNAs and MPAs, will be the first to volunteer themselves for the purpose. However, former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan will give approval to these names.
