GALLE (Sri Lanka) : Pakistan’s talented and young karate team raised the country’s flag in Sri Lanka where the teams from five countries participated in the international contest.
The female Karate team from Pakistan won the under 14 trophy of the 25th Kensho International Open Karate Championship 2023 held at the Galle Sports Complex in Sri Lanka on Monday.
A team from Pakistan secured three gold medals and one silver medal in the championship.
The gold medalists include Anahita Fatima, Aiyana Noel, Ayra Adil while Zehab Ghazanfar clinched silver medal.
The young Kumite Anahita Fatima, Aiyana Noel and Ayra Adil won the Gold medals in 40Kg, 35Kg and 20Kg categories respectively. Interestingly, Anahita Fatima defeated the opponent player in only 20 seconds.
“It is my dream to participate in Olympic and represent Pakistan,” Anahita Fatima told about her ambitions after winning Gold medial in the international event.
Moreover, the male Kumite Zehab Ghazanfar secured Gold medal in 35kg category.
Under the supervision of Sindh Karate Association, the Pakistan team took part in the international event where with the teams from six other countries also participated.
The participating teams hailed from Sri Lanka, Japan, Germany, India and Pakistan.
“It is great honour to share the spectacular victory with young Karate team comprising of 4 karateka of Taurus mixed martial arts in international championship held in Sri Lanka,” the Chief Coach and Secretary Sindh Karate Association Wasif Ali proudly cited the triumph of brilliant team.
