A peace march from Bara to Bagh was held here in Tirah Valley on Tuesday aimed to restore durable peace in the area.
A mammoth of tribesmen from different walks of life from Khyber participated in the rally which started from Bara Bazaar via Sheen Kamar to Bagh, Tirah, where a huge public gathering was organized under the banner of Sayasi Ittehad(Political Alliance), Khyber.
Addressing on the occasion speakers including Chief Sayasi Ittehad Shah Faisal Afridi, Naseer Koki Khel,Sadeeq Charagh,Barylai,Zahidullah,Hameedulah Jan,Imran Afridi,Abdul Ghani and others said the purpose of “Aman March “was halt resurgence of terrorism in the area as the tribesmen had suffered a lot in the last two decades against war on terror.
We have sacrificed in the form of life and property for the sake of the country; however, for the last few months some State elements deliberately disturb the peaceful environment of the Tirah Valley, which is injustice to them, they remarked.
They demanded the government to allow Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) of Tirah Valley to return to their villages as they had been serving their lives under the poverty line or they would themselves return to their homes.
Sayasi Ittehad, Khyber combined all the peace loving forces at one platform and would leave no stone unturned to work for constant calm in the district they added and said they would initiate hurdles in imposing unwanted war in the area.
It was obligatory on the State to restore peace and it was binding on the government to make Tirah Valley free of terrorists, they added.
The speakers threatened that they would march to Islamabad for re-establishment of peace in Khyber.
