178 physically handicapped patients get free treatment at ALW

PESHAWAR: The provincial social welfare department provided free of cost service to 178 physically handicapped including women, children and elderly persons from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and merged districts of the province. Released on Friday, monthly report of July, the Artificial Limbs Workshop (ALW) of the social welfare department of KP provided orthotics service to one patient while trans femoral prosthesis 3, TLSO and extension brace 6, AFO 21, KAFO 9 arches 3, hand splint , cock up and dynamic splint6, above knee orthosis 2, trans tibial splints 11. The workshop provided humerus brace 2, PTB brace 9 , heel pad digital 1, ortho-prosthesis 1 , abduction brace 8 , D.B shoes 5, knee brace 6, digital heel pad arch 1, repair 6 and 1 shoulder brace patient facilities in the institution. Manager of the workshop Tahira Ali talking about the activities of the institution said that ALW of the social welfare department provided services to physically disabled persons of the province and tribal districts without any discrimination.
