PESHAWAR
Muhammad Faiq Shah, founder and chairman of the Amun Taraqqi Party urged the interim government to ensure congenial atmosphere and level playing field to all contesting candidates and political parties during the upcoming general elections in the country.
Also, he stressed that the Election commission should take proactive steps to conduct free, fair and transparent polls. Furthermore, he said election should be made easier for the ordinary people. Chairing a meeting here at the party’s central secretariat on Friday, Shah said concerns have been raised over growing lawlessness ahead of general elections.
He emphasized that the government along with law enforcement agencies and other authorities should craft a comprehensive plan to provide a level playing field, favorable environment for all political parties and hold transparent polls.
Faiq said reforms are the dire need of the hour to remove intervention of money, pressure and rigging in the forthcoming election.
He said ATP would contest election on the manifesto of public authority and justice. He urged people to reject those people who had betrayed them by fake promises, slogans and manifesto.
The party leader asked that vote should be given to the manifesto and program. He said people should take decisions about what is better or what is wrong for them. We want to delegate powers to ordinary people that will enable them to make decisions and resolve their issues on their own. He vowed to ensure public participation from union council to centre level.
Shah said ATP is the only political force, which had played an effective opposition and stands with people for the last seven years and raised their issues vigorously at every forum and in all segments.
He said inflation, unemployment, poverty, hunger and illiteracy are the major challenges which would be addressed with collective efforts.
The ATP chief said the day is near when people will hold accountability of those people/politicians who looted the country’s resources and kept deprived them from all facilities and basic rights.
