Capital City Police Officer Dr Mian Saeed Ahmad has directed immediate action to address the collective grievances of police personnel, reaffirming that public service remains the top priority of Peshawar police.
Presiding over a police darbar at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines on Friday, Dr Ahmad met with officers and personnel of the Cantt Division on the directives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed.
The open forum provided an opportunity for policemen to raise issues related to welfare, accommodation, quality of food and other service matters directly with the city police chief.
Dr Ahmad issued on-the-spot orders for the resolution of the problems highlighted during the darbar.
Addressing the gathering, the CCPO said the purpose of holding regular darb ars was to maintain direct contact with the force and ensure timely solutions to their problems.
“Public service is among the foremost priorities of Peshawar police, for which we are utilising all available resources,” he said. “Steps are being taken to resolve collective issues of the force, and to improve the welfare, accommodation, and standard of meals for our personnel.”
He commended the role of police personnel in crime prevention, maintenance of law and order, and in eliminating various social evils, calling their contribution “highly commendable”.
Senior officers present at the darbar included SSP Operations Farhan Khan, SSP Investigation Dr Muhammad Sami Malik, SP Cantt Muhammad Junaid Kharal, SP Headquarters and DSP Headquarters.
