Abbottabad University of Science and Technology (AUST), organised by Director Training, successfully organized the 5th day of the NAHE/HEC training series on Monday.
The one-day faculty training, titled “Psychological Wellbeing of Higher Education Teachers and Learners,” was conducted by Dr. Syeda Farhana Jahangir, Professor Emeritus at the University of Peshawar.
The session emphasized the importance of mental health in academia, highlighting the need for psychological wellbeing among both students and educators. Dr. Jahangir provided valuable insights into managing stress, fostering emotional resilience, and creating a supportive academic environment.
The training concluded with a strong recommendation to establish Therapeutic Counseling Centers in universities to address psychological challenges and ensure proper counseling for students and teachers.
Dr. Ibrar Khan expressed gratitude to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE) for their support, emphasizing the critical need for such initiatives to enhance academic performance and overall wellbeing.
Participants praised the workshop for its relevance and practical benefits, reaffirming AUST’s commitment to promoting academic and professional excellence.
