Tens of thousands, Bara filled the streets on Saturday to denounce Israeli atrocities in Gaza and voice solidarity with innocent Palestinian people.
Organized by Anjuman-e-Tajeran, Bara Bazaar, the participants including traders, students and members of civil society while waving Palestinian flags took out the rally till Khyber Chawk.
The crowd holding banners reading “Down with Israel” “stop bombing Gaza” and “Gaza genocide etc. and chanted Labbaik ya Gaza, Labbaik ya Gaza etc.
Addressing on the occasion President Anjuman-e-Tajeran, Bara Said Ayaz Wazir and others called Israel a terrorist state and accused America and the several European countries of supporting Israel war crimes.
They expressed their displeasure over the silent attitude of Muslim countries especially the Arab countries pertaining Palestinian atrocities and said after Gaza they would be its next target.
We stand side by side with our Palestinian brothers in their struggle for liberty from militant Israel, they remarked.
The speakers called for immediate ceasefire in Gaza and urgent humanitarian assistance to ensure safety and protection of Palestinians.
They asked to boycott Israel made commodities to make it economically weakened and prefer to utilize the country’s made goods.
At the end an effigy of the Israeli Prime Minister was set on fire and dispersed peacefully.
Aas per media reports since October 2023 when Israel waged war against Gaza nearly 51000 Palestinians most of them are women and children have been martyred.
Meanwhile, like elsewhere in the country, on call of Jamaat-e-Islami shutter down strike was observed in Khyber on Saturday in solidarity with Palestinians.
