Proclaimed offender killed, SHO injured in armed encounter in Charsadda

CHARSADDA: An alleged proclaimed offender was killed and Station House Officer (SHO) Salim Khan was injured during an exchange of fire between police and criminals in the jurisdiction of Sardheri Police Station on Wednesday. According to police officials, the shootout occurred when a police party came under fire during an operation in the Sardheri area. SHO Salim Khan sustained injuries in the encounter and was promptly shifted to the hospital, where District Police Officer (DPO) Charsadda Muhammad Waqas Khan visited him to inquire about his condition. The officer is reported to be receiving the best possible medical treatment. The deceased suspect was a well-known proclaimed offender with a history of involvement in multiple serious criminal cases. Police confirmed that he was previously convicted and had been evading arrest. DPO Charsadda Muhammad Waqas Khan and SP Investigation Sajjad Khan arrived at the scene with a heavy police contingent. The operation was being personally supervised by the DPO. A search operation was currently underway in the area to apprehend other suspects believed to be linked to the offender.
