AUST hosts Int’l Conference on Future of Work and Society 2025

Abbottabad University of Science and Technology (AUST), under the leadership of Vice Chancellor and Conference Chair, Prof. Dr. Tahir Irfan Khan, was proud to host the International Conference on “Future of Work and Society: Collaborative Solutions for a Complex World (FOWS2025)” from 13th to 15th November 2025 at the Jalal Baba Auditorium, Abbottabad.
FOWS2025 brings together leading scholars, policymakers, industry experts, and students from across the globe to engage in transformative dialogue on emerging trends shaping work, society, technology, and education. The conference will feature:
Distinguished national and international keynote speakers, including Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed (Former Chairman, HEC), Prof. Dr. Özcan Saritas (Director of Future Forsight and Strategic Planning, UAE), Dr. Muhammad Imran Qureshi (Founding Director, Connecting Asia & Team Lead, Teesside University, UK), and eminent Vice Chancellors from leading Pakistani universities (Prof. Dr. Syed Attaullah Shah Vice Chancellor Karakuram International University Gilgit, Prof. Dr. Syed Iqbal Shah former VC University of Agriculture Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Tahir Irfan Khan Vice Chancellor Abbottabad University of Science and Technology, Prof. Dr. Jamil Ahmed Vice Chancellor Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan) as well as Dr. Muhammad Muddassar Khan, Chairman Management Sciences and Mr. Shahrome Khan, Registrar Abbottabad University of Science and Technology (AUST), Pakistan
65+ research presentations (In person and online ) covering themes such as AI and digital innovation, policy frameworks, human-centric work design, higher education transformation, leadership, governance, and sustainable development. In addition, 190 participants have attended the conference from national and international countries including Malaysia, United Kingdom, Pakistan, China, UAE and Turkey also.
Panel discussions on strategic topics, including “Leadership, Governance and Global Competitiveness” and “Policy, Finance, and Higher Education Transformation,” highlighting the intersection of research, policy, and industry.
Hands-on post-conference workshops conducted by renowned international experts (Prof. Dr Ozcan Saritas, UAE and Dr. Muhammad Imran Qureshi, UK) as well as national experts (Dr. Hamad Raza and Dr. Syed Ahmad Gillani from LBS, Government College University Faisalabad), focusing on cutting-edge tools, methodologies, and innovative solutions for future-ready organizations and societies.
The conference represents a unique North-South and South-South collaboration, with partners including Connecting Asia (Malaysia), The APRA, UK, and Teesside University, UK. FOWS2025 aims to foster international research collaboration, promote sustainable and human-centric approaches to work and society, and provide actionable insights for policy and industry stakeholders.
