Girls’ school expansion dispute resolved amicably by Jirga

NOWSHERA: A sensitive issue concerning the expansion of Government Girls High School, Nowshera Kalan, was amicably resolved through a traditional jirga under the supervision of the district administration. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Nowshera Sara Tawab played a key role in the resolution process, during which the matter of encroachment was settled peacefully through mutual consultation and confidence-building among the concerned parties. The settlement has cleared the way for the renovation and expansion of the school. Speaking on the occasion, Ms Tawab said that resolving disputes while respecting local traditions helped promote social harmony and strengthen public trust in the administration. She expressed satisfaction that the issue was resolved without any conflict, describing public trust as her greatest achievement. According to the jirga decision, the initiative will facilitate improved educational facilities for female students in the area. DLP Report
