Six Dengue cases reported in Rawalpindi this year

Rawalpindi: Six cases of dengue virus have been reported in Rawalpindi during the current year, according to the Health Department. The department said 2,841 people have been screened for dengue so far. Two individuals diagnosed with dengue virus were shifted to hospitals for treatment, the Health Department said. Last year, 68 dengue cases were reported in Rawalpindi. According to the department, 17,859 dengue hotspots have been registered across the district, while 415 outdoor and 1,045 indoor teams are engaged in surveillance and preventive activities. More than 1.3 million locations have been checked, while dengue larvae were detected at more than 87,000 locations, officials said. The Health Department said 1,670 cases were registered over violations of standard operating procedures, while 440 locations were sealed. ONLINE
