Agricultural chemicals import grew 7.05 % in FY2026

ISLAMABAD: The imports of agricultural and others chemicals group into the country during the last financial year (2025-26) grew by 7.05 per cent as compared to the imports of the corresponding period of the last year. During the period from July-June, 2026, agricultural and other chemicals worth $10.234 billion were imported as compared to the imports of $2.694 billion of the same period of the last year, according to the data of the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. However, the fertilizers imports decreased by 11.31 per cent during the period under review as 902,949 metric tons of fertilizers manufactured valued at $594.045 million were imported as compared to the imports of 1.067 million metric tons costing $669.784 million of the same period of the last year. Meanwhile, agricultural machinery and implements worth $135.267 million were also imported during the financial year 2025-26 as compared to the imports of the corresponding period of the last year. During the period from July-June, 2026, the imports of agricultural machinery and implements registered an increase of 23.08 per cent as compared to the imports of the same period of the last year. The imports of other machinery into the country during the period under review grew by 24.34 per cent as against the imports of the same period of the last year. Overall, the imports of the machinery group into the country during the 12 months of the last financial year grew by 5.95 per cent, as it was recorded at %$10.919 billion as compared to the imports of $10.307 billion of the same period of the last year.
