Police claim to have solved a case, revealing that the alleged suicide of Rafiq Khan was actually a premeditated murder. According to police, a team formed on the special instructions of SP Saddar division Muhammad Arshad Khan solved the case and uncovered that the victim’s wife and elder brother were involved in the killing.
The operation for the arrest was conducted by SHO Police Station Urmar Khalid Afridi and investigation officers under the supervision of DSP Rehman Baba Circle Muhammad Ali Khan. According to police, Rafiq Khan, a resident of Shino Garhi, was hanged to death two weeks ago. The victim’s wife allegedly misled the police by portraying the incident as a suicide.
Shakeel Khan had reported his son’s death to Urmar Police Station on January 29, 2026. Following the complaint, police launched a comprehensive investigation, including questioning family members. Contradictions in the statements of the deceased’s wife and brother-in-law prompted further interrogation, which eventually led to confessions. The accused admitted that the murder was premeditated. According to police, the motive stemmed from a financial dispute: Rafiq Khan had sold a plot of land and given the proceeds to his brother-in-law, Saeed Khan,.
When Saeed Khan refused to return the money, he and the deceased’s wife allegedly conspired to kill Rafiq Khan and stage it as a suicide.
Saeed Khan has been arrested, while the female accused has been transferred to the Women Police Station for further investigation.
