The provincial president of the Awami National Party (ANP), Arsalan Khan Nazim, has strongly criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, accusing it of neglecting the worsening law and order situation in the province.
In a statement, ANP leader stated, “KP is burning, but the ruling party is busy entertaining the guests of a prisoner.”
Highlighting recent incidents, Arsalan Khan said four innocent individuals were martyred in a target killing in Bannu, and seven policemen kidnapped from Bannu Wazir sub-division remain missing.
In Kohat, a policeman was martyred in a shooting, while in Bajaur, a Jamaat-e-Islami official lost his life. He also noted the destruction of a school in Azam Warsak, South Waziristan, by explosives.
“Every resident of Pakhtunkhwa is ashamed of the current government’s misplaced priorities. Not even the Chief Minister or a single minister, MPA, or MNA is standing with the people in this time of crisis,” he added. Recalling ANP’s tenure, Arsalan Khan emphasized the party’s sacrifices in combating terrorism.
“We faced terrorism with our heads held high and established peace at the cost of our lives. Today, this imposed government was undoing that hard-earned peace,” he lamented.
He urged the people to take action, warning that the ongoing violence and unrest would not remain confined to southern KP or tribal districts. “The fire has been ignited and could spread further if decisive steps are not taken,” he warned.
