PESHAWAR
The Awami National Party (ANP) on Tuesday announced a membership campaign across the country and constituted a six-member election committee for the purpose.
According to a statement issued here from Bacha Khan Markaz, the decision was taken in the central executive meeting which was chaired by central senior vice president Amir Haider Khan Hoti.
The secretary general of the party and senior leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain will be the Chairman of the committee constituted for the membership campaign. It added that the members of the committee will include Dr Muhammad Saleem Khan for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Ihsanullah for Islamabad, Attaullah Shah Bukhari for Punjab, Umar Farooq has been named for Balochistan, Hanif Shah will lead the drive in Sindh and Dr Muhammad Akram Khan will lead the campaign for the Saraiki belt of the Punjab province.
The Central Election Commission will ensure the establishment of provincial and district election commissions by May 30. From July 1 to September 30, a membership campaign will be conducted across the country.
Organizations from village councils to district councils will be made possible from October 1 to November 30. In December 2023, the organization of the five provincial units will be operationalized while the central organization will be ensured in January 2024.
Until the establishment of new organizations, the existing organizations will continue to fulfill the constitutional obligations.
