Today, on 20th April, 2022, Assistant Commissioners / Special Magistrates deputed by ICT Administration to ensure availability of essential commodities including fruits and vegetables in accordance with the government notified rates, inspected 511 shops in various sectors / markets of Islamabad. Accordingly, fine amounting to Rs. 50,500/- was imposed. Moreover, 3 shops were sealed and 8 shopkeeper were arrested. Besides, as a result of inspections, 404 shopkeepers have started displaying price lists.
Apart from price checking, 195 shops were inspected for ban on use of plastic bags and fine amounting to Rs. 3000/- was imposed on violators.
Furthermore, 11 beggars were arrested as a result of 7 inspections in different areas of Islamabad.
As regard inspection of public transport vehicles, teams of Islamabad Transport Authority inspected 48 vehicles out of which 39 were challaned and fine amounting to Rs. 9000/- was imposed on different violations.
