Rashida Ghaznavi, Additional Director General of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Department, has highlighted that effective measures taken to promote sports and discover grassroots talent in the province are delivering positive results. The outstanding performance of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s athletes at the Quaid-e-Azam Games stands as a testament to these efforts.
In her statement, Rashida Ghaznavi emphasized that the Sports Department ensures equal facilities for male and female athletes. She explained that, just like their male counterparts, female athletes are given opportunities to refine their skills through training camps organized ahead of the National Games and Inter-Provincial Games. These camps provide daily allowances to female athletes, equal to those provided to male players, fostering fairness and encouragement.
For the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games in Islamabad, 163 female athletes from 11 different sports disciplines participated in training camps and were given daily allowances for seven days. Rashida Ghaznavi assured athletes that any issues regarding the payment of their allowances could be directly addressed to her or the relevant department.
“These athletes are the pride of our province and nation, with the potential to elevate Pakistan’s name at national and international levels,” she remarked.
She further stated that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Department is fully committed to improving facilities and support for athletes to ensure the province’s talent achieves global recognition.
