The employees of the provincial government’s 34 directorates and attached department rejected the government’s 20 percent increase, saying the hike would not have much impact on their salaries.
The Attached Departments Officers Associations (ADOA), an association of 34 directorate and attached department, demanding special allowance along the lines of the executive allowance paid to officers of the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) and Provincial Management Service (PMS).
Attached department officials have expressed outrage over the increase of 20 percent and said that of their demands was not meet protest demonstration would be carried out in Peshawar.
20 percent increase was not ADOA demand there was only one demand to get one and a half basic salary as allowance.
The government is concerned about the growing unrest among the officers and the notification suggests that the government is not taking seriously the increase in the salaries of the attached department officers, the association said.
Attached department officials have called for continuous protests after the deadline, during which a lockout campaign will be conducted in each directorate on a daily basis till a single demand is met, while in case of no hearing, D-Chowk will be the destination.
The leadership of the association has started a liaison with organizations from other provinces and an inter-provincial meeting will be convened soon to determine the time and strategy for going to Islamabad.
