Quetta:(6th Aug 2024): Balochistan Awami Party is delighted to welcome the high-level Chinese delegation to Gwadar today. This visit marks a significant milestone in the longstanding and unwavering friendship between China and Pakistan. The discussions held today have reinforced our commitment to future investments, developmental programs, and the advancement of ongoing projects such as the New Gwadar International Airport and the Pak-China Friendship Hospital.

The delegation’s tour of the South Free Zone and Gwadar Port highlights the critical importance of these facilities for future commercial and economic activities. These areas are pivotal for enhancing trade and economic growth, underscoring the mutual benefits of our partnership.

Led by Mr. Wang Fokang of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting between the Chinese delegation and the officials of the Gwadar Port Authority was both productive and forward-looking. We also engaged in constructive dialogue on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Phase 2 projects, which are essential for the sustained economic development of the region.

Provincial Minister Mr. Zahoor Buledi extended a warm welcome to all participants, followed by a briefing by Gwadar Port Authority Chairman Mr. Pasand Khan Buledi, who emphasized the significance of CPEC for the success of Gwadar Port. Mr. Yu Bo, Chairman of China Overseas Port Holding Company (COPHC), shared invaluable insights on strengthening trade, reflecting the collaborative spirit that defines our relationship.

China and Pakistan share an ironclad friendship, deeply rooted in history and mutual respect. Industrial cooperation is currently of paramount importance, and the implementation of large-scale projects with China’s support will catalyze an economic revolution in the region. These initiatives will create numerous employment and business opportunities for the people of Balochistan.

We also commend the delegation for acknowledging and expressing satisfaction with the safety measures in place for all Chinese employees working on various projects. This visit has solidified our confidence and is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing Pakistan’s capacity to tackle future challenges.

Despite attempts to undermine this high-level visit, the steadfast commitment of both Pakistan and China has ensured its success. We are grateful for the 26-member delegation’s presence, which includes representatives from the Chinese Embassy, Mr. Yang Guangyuan and Mr. Chen Jinji, as well as Pakistani officials Mr. Owais Manzoor Sumra from the Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Shalwani from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, and Mr. Ses Zafar Ali Shah.

We extend a heartfelt welcome to private Chinese companies to invest in Gwadar. We urge the Government of Balochistan to facilitate these investments, recognizing their potential to significantly boost the regional and national economy during the second phase of CPEC. Together, we can achieve unprecedented economic growth and prosperity for our nations.
