PESHAWAR
A Canadian company has expressed interest to invest in the exploration and mining of the precious natural resources of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in accordance with international standards.
The offer was made during meeting of a delegation of the Tytan Copper, a Canadian company with the KP Caretaker Minister for Industries, Commerce and Technical Education (IC&TE), Dr Aamir Abdullah here in Civil Secretariat on Wednesday. Chairman of the company David Michal Thompson was leading the delegation. Besides, Secretary Mines & Mineral Department Hamidullah Shah and Director (Exploration) Mohammad Aamir, other concerned authorities were also present on the occasion.
During the meeting, the officials of the company told the caretaker minister regarding various aspects of their activities in the mineral sector and expressed interest in making investment in mineral sector particularly in the reserves of the copper.
Speaking on occasion, the Provincial Minister for Industries, Commerce and Technical Education termed their interest in investment in the mining sector as welcoming and assured them the provision of all possible facilities to them. He told the delegation that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment and Trade (KP-BoIT) as a facilitative organization will provide them full facilities. He said that the provincial government is establishing mineral specified industrial zones in the mineral rich areas to facilitate investors at local level.
On this occasion, the delegation was also given a briefing on investment opportunities at various places and availability of the natural resources as well.
