KP Governor visits Afghan consulate to offer condolence

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Haji Ghulam Ali visited the Afghan Consulate General Peshawar here on Wednesday to offer condolences on the losses of lives in the recent earthquake in Herat province of Afghanistan.
“Khyber Pakhtunkhwa shares the pain and grief of Afghanistan people in the earthquake,” Haji Ghualm Ali told Afghan Consul General Hafiz Mohibullah Shakir.
The Governor expressed his condolences to the Afghan Consul General over the recent earthquake in Herat Province, Afghanistan, over the loss of 2,500 precious lives, the destruction of more than 5,000 buildings, and the financial losses. He said that Afghanistan is a brotherly neighboring Islamic country, and the people of both sides share equally in each other’s grief and happiness. The Afghan Consul General thanked Governor Haji Ghulam Ali for coming to express his sympathy. He said that he is grateful to the government and people of Khyber the province for supporting the Afghan refugees in their happiness and sorrow. The Afghan Consul General presented his proposal to the Governor regarding the dignified return of Afghan refugees, on which the Governor assured to convey the proposal presented by the Afghan Consul to the Prime Minister of Pakistan.Talking to the media, the Governor said that the purpose of the visit to the Afghan Consulate General was to express condolences on behalf of himself and the KP government for the loss of lives and property caused by the recent earthquake in Afghanistan.
Haji Ghulam Ali said Pakistan has been hosting Afghan refugees for decades and relations between the countries will strengthen with each passing day.
During the Governor’s visit to the Afghan Consul General in Peshawar, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) General Secretary Maulana Ata-ul-Haq Darwish and former Provincial Minister Maulana Amanullah Haqqani, while the Secretary of the Afghan Consulate General Swaim Maulvi Mohammad Raza Rahmani, Mohammad Tahir Nafeez and Mohammad Saeed Hashmi were also present.
