Ahead of Sept 27 long march

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi arrived in Sindh on Thirsday for a five-day visit to lead the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s “Street Movement” as part of preparations for the party’s planned long march to Islamabad on September 27.
According to a handout issued by the Chief Minister’s Press Office, Mr Afridi was received by PTI’s provincial and central leadership and cabinet members on arrival. He is scheduled to hold meetings with local political leadership during the visit.
Addressing workers at Kamo Shaheed on the Sindh-Punjab border, the chief minister thanked the people of Sindh for what he called a “historic and enthusiastic” welcome. He said the turnout this time had surpassed previous receptions.
Mr Afridi asked the gathering whether they would march toward D-Chowk in Islamabad or mobilise in Karachi. He alleged that despite decades of rule in Sindh, the ruling party had failed to deliver development and the province’s due rights. “Imran Khan will ensure that the people of Sindh receive their rightful share,” he said, adding that PTI stood firmly with the people of the province.
At Mureed Shakh, the chief minister urged workers to sustain their enthusiasm and take the message to every part of the country. “I and my leaders will be waiting for you on that day and I myself will lead you in this struggle,” he said, referring to the September 27 march.
Later at Kashmore Chowk, he addressed a large gathering and said the response showed that Imran Khan “continued to command a place in their hearts.” He asked workers if they would come out with the same resolve on September 27 and stressed that people should participate “without fear.”
The chief minister also visited Thal and Jacobabad, where he received a warm welcome from PTI workers and supporters. He urged them to remain mobilised and continue preparations for the Islamabad march.
“The Street Movement launched for September 27 has entered the soil of Sindh today. InshaAllah, on September 27, the entire country will be on the streets, from Karachi to Makran, from Khyber to Mehran, and from Lahore to Gilgit-Baltistan,” Mr Afridi said.
PTI has announced the September 27 long march toward Islamabad to press its demands.
