Sindh street movement to Boost Preparations for September 27 Long March: Information Minister

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shafi Jan has claimed that the reception accorded to Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leaders during their visit to Sindh showed that party workers and supporters in the province were prepared to participate in the Sept 27 long march.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the minister said the ongoing political activities in Sindh would help mobilise public support and prepare workers for the planned march.
He said the participation of PTI workers and supporters in Ghotki and other districts reflected what he described as strong public support for former prime minister Imran Khan and the party.
Mr Jan thanked the people and PTI workers of Sindh for the reception given to the KP chief minister and other party leaders.
He claimed that Mr Khan remained the only national political leader with support across all four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The minister said the PTI’s campaign for Mr Khan’s release and what he described as the supremacy of the Constitution and rule of law would enter a “decisive phase” with the planned Sept 27 march.
He said preparations for the march were under way and claimed that party workers and supporters across the country were ready to participate.
Mr Jan also criticised the federal government over what he called political victimisation of Mr Khan. He alleged that restrictions on meetings between Mr Khan and his sisters, despite court orders, amounted to contempt of court.
He called for implementation of court orders concerning meetings between Mr Khan and his family and his transfer to a hospital.
The minister further accused the federal government of violating court orders and said the PTI would continue its campaign for Mr Khan’s release and the supremacy of the Constitution and rule of law.
He said the Sept 27 march towards Islamabad would go ahead and vowed to continue the political campaign in coordination with PTI workers and supporters in Sindh.
